If your looking for beautiful walks in Norfolk look no further. This is my second blog, where I am sharing another wonderful location, this time its Holkham Hall Estate. I fully recommend you visit, read below to find out why.
I love being outdoors with my camera when I’m not working in the Generation’s Studio as a children's and family photographer. There are so many stunning spots to visit in Norfolk and I still have many more to visit and tick off my to see list. Before opening Generations Photography near Norwich to specialise in maternity, newborn, children and family photography, I started off with nature and landscape photography and this has remained my hobby.
For my 4th Wedding Anniversary me and my Husband decided to visit Holkham Hall Estate for the first time…and all I can say is WOW!
When we proceeded down the long drive with Holkham Hall ahead of us, I got my first glance at the stunning Fallow Deer herd. We visited during deer rutting season so we had to be extra careful when walking around the deer, being mindful not to get too close. This is when having a camera lens with a great zoom paid off.
We admired the deer herd for about an hour in the surrounding parkland, it was lovely to watch their playful nature. There was also two buzzards flying around us.
Next we followed the path around the beautiful lake and ended up at the stunning St Withburga’s Church. We sat in the churchyard and just listened to the beautiful bird song. We continued our walk around the whole lake and got to see the stunning Holkham Hall from different vantage points. It really is a stunning piece of architecture to admire. I will definitely be going back in the future, when the house is open.
We then headed to the Temple, this was in a beautiful secluded wooded area, it was a truly tranquil space and we had it to ourselves. Then we headed further along the path to the remarkable Obelisk.
It was an action packed day, we arrived at 10am and left at about 3.45pm. I certainly got my 10,000 steps and beyond in that day. We paid £4 to park for the whole day which was a total bargain, for how long we spent there. There was still plenty of things we didn't even have time to see. I will certainly be doing the nature reserve and beach walks on my next visit.
I I fully recommend a visit to the Holkham Hall Estate in Norfolk, if you want a wonderful walk in beautiful surroundings surrounded by wildlife.
