Generations Photography is continuing to operate within Covid-19 Health and Safety Guidelines.
At Generations Photography I have always taken health and safety as a priority. Keeping my studio a clean and safe space has always been my focus even before the Covid-19 pandemic, because when working with children, there is always a risk of germs and illness spreading. I want to reassurance my clients that healthy and safety is my number one priority, so I have introduced some changes and additional measures to the way I deliver my Photoshoots in the studio. I also have completed a detailed Covid-19 Risk Assessment to cover all aspects of the Photoshoot.

Covid-19 Health and Safety Studio Policy and Procedure 2022
At Generations Photography I have always taken health and safety as a priority. Keeping my studio a clean and safe space has always been my focus even before the Covid-19 pandemic, because when working with children, there is always a risk of germs and illness spreading. I want to reassurance my clients that your health and safety is my number one priority, so I have introduced changes and additional measures to the way I deliver my Photoshoots in the studio. These procedures below will be adhered to before, during and after each photoshoot, for the foreseeable future, when the Covid-19 virus is still considered to be an active threat. To provide further reassurance I have had my two Covid-19 Vaccinations and one Booster. I also complete a Lateral Flow test every day I have clients.
Types of Photoshoot
Please do not bring any extra family members to the photoshoot, as this will make it harder for me to socially distance myself from you all (if in doubt please message me to discuss this before booking your photoshoot).
Some Photoshoots will be carried out differently to normal to minimise the level of Risk:-
The photographer would normally hold the baby for the majority of the photoshoot so that they can pose them in and out of props, thus the 2 metre social distancing cannot be maintained. Therefore Parents will be asked to pose and position their baby, as well as change them into any outfits during the Photoshoot, under the direction of the Photographer.
-Mini Photoshoots and Christmas Photoshoots
There will be reduced slots available, as sufficient time will need to be allocated between each photoshoot, to allow stringent cleaning procedures to be carried out after each photoshoot. So please ensure you arrive on time to your Photoshoot.
Before the Photoshoot
-If I am unwell I will postpone your photoshoot and it will be rearranged.
-If you, your child or any family member are showing any signs of any illness prior to the photoshoot, or you believe you may have been exposed to the Covid-19 virus please contact me so your photoshoot can be postponed until you are better.
-If anyone in your household has been diagnosed with Covid-19 within the last 30 days you will need to contact me to postpone your photoshoot.
-Please do not bring any extra family members to the photoshoot, as this will make it harder for me to socially distance myself from you all.
-All Photoshoot deposits are to be paid using an online method either PayPal or Bank Transfer to avoid cash handling.
-Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the start of your Photoshoot
-All clients will be asked to complete a Covid-19 Liability Release Waiver Agreement on arrival.
-I wash my hands prior to your arrival.
-All adult clients who are not directly taking part in the photoshoot are asked to wear a disposable face mask on arrival, which will be provided upon entering the studio, however clients are free to bring their own face mask. I appreciate it can be difficult to get children to smile and feel comfortable with everyone wearing a mask around them, so I am flexible with this when needed to meet the needs of your child and to make them comfortable during the photoshoot.
-Clients are asked to remove coats & shoes in the hallway prior to entering the main studio and leave them in the hallway
-Clients are asked to wash their hands with hot water in the bathroom or use hand sanitiser before entering the main studio room
-An automatic soap dispenser is provided in bathroom (or an alternative of hand gel is available in the hallway)
-A handwashing poster is displayed in the bathroom above sink
-Paper towels are provided in the bathroom, with a pedal waste bin
-Clients will be asked to double bag nappies & take them home to dispose of
-I have official NHS QR poster all the hallway so you scan the barcode to check in the studio using the NHS Covid-19 App. This will help you keep a log of all the places you have visited, if you are contacted by NHS Track and Trace.
-During the Photoshoot I will be wearing a face mask
-In the main studio room / cake smash room there are markings on the floor to show a safe distance for me to shoot from
-In regards to hands on contact with your children, I will keep that to a minimum to uphold social distancing, so for the time being parents will need to take a more hands on role in the photoshoot, including putting them in a seated position, sitting close by to them during the photoshoot.
-Hand sanitiser is provided in both studio rooms for clients to use as and when needed, but according to Government advice, the most effective method is thorough hand-washing for 20 seconds, and I will pause the photoshoot for hand-washing purposes.
-Handwashing facilities are available in the bathroom with hot water/soap
-Nappy changing is to be done within the bathroom and clients are asked to double bag nappies and to take nappies home with them
-Tissues are provided in the main room with a pedal waste bin to dispose of them safely in (please follow catch it, bin it, kill it), then please wash your hands with hot water and soap afterwards
-Snacks will be provided in sealed packets
-Refreshments will now be in disposable cups for hot drinks / Bottled water will be provided
End of the Photoshoot
-After the photoshoot gloves and aprons will be disposed of, and fabric face masks will be washed at the end of the day on a high temperature
-There will be increased cleaning after each photoshoot in higher risk areas and higher risk surfaces. When cleaning after a Photoshoot gloves will be worn. A disposable cloth, will be used to firstly clean hard surfaces with warm soapy water. Then these will be disinfected with Milton. Particular attention will be given to frequently touched areas and surfaces, e.g. door handles, light switches, toilet handle (only one photoshoot is booked in per day to allow this to happen)
-Clients are asked to wash their hands with hot water in the bathroom before leaving the studio
-Clients will be asked to double bag nappies & take them home to dispose of
-A deep studio clean is done at the end of each day (including steam mop of all the floor spaces)
-Clothing/fabrics are machine washed at a high temperature after use
-After each photoshoots the studio is aired and window ventilation is available
-After each photoshoot, rubbish will be placed in a bag and tied up, and disposed of in the main outside bin
-The remaining balance of the photoshoot is to be paid via Bank Transfer to prevent the handling of cash
- If anyone in the client’s household develops Covid-19 symptoms within 14 days after the photoshoot, you will make Generations Photography aware of this as soon as possible.
